After Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, European football body UEFA banned Crimean clubs from moving to the Russian league but authorised them to set up their own competition. Speaking after a meeting of FIFA's Israel-Palestine Monitoring Committee, PFA president Jibril Rajoub said a Crimea-style solution could work too for West Bank settlement teams - i.e. preventing them playing in the Israeli league but allowing their own competition.
